Academics

The Institute of Hyperloop Technology offers a range of opportunities for students to learn about Hyperloop technology and be directly involved in the research process. Seminars are combined with Lab Projects and the design and construction of demonstrators.

Courses of Study

Two seminars are offered at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg. The Bachelor course „Hyperloop Systems“ and the Master course „Advanced Hyperloop Studies„. Both seminars have started with the strong demand of students from the course of Engineering Physics, which has also been the seed for the Hyperloop Pod Competition Team HyperPodX. The seminars are offered to all students of the University at Oldenburg as an elective module. There are topics available for students from various courses of study to learn and research the topic of Hyperloop technologies.

Bachelor Course

5.04.654 Hyperloop Systems

Master Course

5.04.4679 Advanced Hyperloop Studies

At the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer an elective module is offered called: „WPF Hyperloop„. This Module is available as an elective for Bachelor and Master students from all disciplines. Students from the department of technology are especially enthusiastic to be contributing towards test vehicles and construction of a test environment for Hyperloop technologies such as levitation and propulsion.

Thesis and Student Projects

The Institute of Hyperloop Technology embraces research and development for an ambitious new mode of transportation! While working on Hyperloop you have the chance of contributing to the development of a climate friendly electric transportation system with less enviromental impact than any other mode of transport.

We´re offering theses and projects to all students from all courses of study by partnering with departments in the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer and the Carl von Ossietszky University Oldenburg. Areas of current research topics include aerodynamics, levitation systems, high power electronics, mechanical engineering of the superstructure, sensors, feasibility studies, socio economic impact and many other research topics with regard to Hyperloop technology.

International Seminar

During the seminar, initiated by Swissloop and EuroTube with TU Munich, Carl von Ossietszky University Oldenburg and University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer, we present updates of our work, share important news and discuss problems and potential solutions. Students present their work and progress of their projects and industry experts are invited for short insight talks. Knowledge-rich lectures will provide impressive insights into the future of vacuum transport. The seminar is open to all students and you can join without application at one of the dates. Visit the official website www.vacuumtransport.org for more information.
